After school, children can explore the arts of the African Diaspora and other cultures through Project Artreach, a drop-in after school program. This is more than an arts and crafts camp! The curriculum includes not only classes in drawing and painting, but also in other media such as print making, computer arts, and photography.
The Arts Center frequently recruits visiting artists to share new perspectives on art with our Project Artreach students. These special guests show the children that art is a valuable channel of expression and can be a life-long hobby, and can even become a career.
Project Artreach is open to all school-aged children Monday through Friday from 3 to 5:30pm. It is a free program and includes field trips, special workshops and daily snacks. Registration is required.
This and other Hamilton Hill Arts Center Programs are partially funded by a Community Development Block Grant, New York State Council on the Arts, and The Schenectady County Youth Bureau.
