Volunteer Opportunities  Volunteers are vital to the smooth functioning of the arts center.  Opportunities are available for those of all skill and experience levels: assisting in arts and crafts activities, making snacks, performing general handy work, developing art exhibits, creating a garden, contributing to our newsletter, singing with kids, assisting with administrative tasks, and many more.  Below are some positions for which we are currently seeking volunteers:

Special Event Volunteers    Hamilton Hill Arts Center organizes many exciting and important events throughout the year, such as Kwanzaa, Juneteenth, and Culturefest.  These events require many hands, and you can help!  Volunteers are often needed to take tickets at the doors, to sell goods from the Kuumba Krafts stand, to paint faces, and much more!  Opportunities are available for all who are interested.

Art Teachers, Youth Workers    Students in art, music, theater and dance are invited to share their interests with child and adult visitors to the arts center. Interns will gain experience in designing curriculum and in working with students. This year we want to revive the photography program and are particularly interested in assistance with computer graphics and communication projects and computer-generated music projects.

Arts Management   Participate in marketing, promotion, fundraising and gallery management. Better your skills in grantsmanship, writing press releases, designing posters and publicity materials. Follow ideas from inception to completion and meet local and national artists of all disciplines.

Business Management   Interns interested in learning to operate small businesses can assist in managing the Kuumba Krafts Boutique. Bring your ideas and energy tohelp build this hidden treasure into profitable retail outlet for local artists and art center students.
