Celebrating The End of Slavery
The Hamilton Hill Arts Center is proud to present its 10th Annual Juneteenth Celebration. The festivities will be held the weekend of June 18 - 20, in Schenectady, NY. Please join us for the opening ceremony on Friday, June 18th at Vale Cemetery, as we celebrate our ancestors with historic re-enactments and a program in their honor. The Juneteenth Celebration continues at Central Park, June 19th � June 20th, as we pay tribute to a significant moment in African-American, and American history. It is a time for all Americans to come together and celebrate the freedoms that make this nation great.
Sunday's (June 20) activities include an interdenominal faith service and a Father's Day tribute, including the Father of the Year Award. Activities also include workshops, vendors, arts and crafts for children and activities for the whole family. More will be announced on this website in the coming months. This event is free and all are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!

This year's celebration is already in the works, and you can be a part of the exciting planning process! Our 2010 celebration is going to be our biggest and best yet, with the Juneteenth activities that you have grown to love. The Juneteenth Committee serves a vital role in the success of this important community event. The planning process is exciting, and the results are incredibly rewarding. Be a Part of Juneteenth 2010!
Each year, Juneteenth attracts thousands of people to Schenectady's Central Park. There is entertainment, vendors, workshops and so much more. We are currently looking for sponsors, vendors, advertisers (in our program journal), workshop presenters and volunteers. Sponsors, depending on level of sponsorship, can receive logo placement ont stage, in the program and on this website. It is a great opportunity for vendors to reach a large amount of people, and a great way to promote your business, church or organization.
