Adult Programs
The Hamilton Hill Arts Center will be offering a number of adult workshops this fall and winter. These including African Drumming and Senior Painting, both very popular in the past. In addition, we are also offering Mask Making and Udu Drum Making workshops. These workshops give adults activities that are fun and entertaining, with a focus on the cultural and artisitic aspect of our mission. While there are costs associated with many of these workshops, these funds are used for supplies, instructors and generally benefit the Arts Center and the programs we provide for children. These workshops are a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share the same interests and are great for adults of all age levels and skills, and are open to all. Registration is required and space is limited. All workshops take place at the Hamilton Hill Arts Center: 409 Schenectady Street, Schenectady NY 12307.
Student and senior discounts available, as well as financial aid (for those who qualify). For more information, please contact Justin Cook, at (518) 346-1262, ext. 13.

“Inside out” Mask Workshop
October 24th, 1:00pm-4:00pm / October 25th, 2:00pm-4:00pm
Presented by Miki Conn
Tuition: $60.00
In our society masks are used in a variety of ways, most frequently during the Halloween season. However, the art of mask making transcends several traditional cultures worldwide. African tribes created masks to depict and connect with spiritual beings, departed ancestors, and invisible social forces. In Africa masks were valued more for their spiritual qualities than their aesthetic qualities. Join us at the Arts Center for this two-day workshop; experience the art of mask making, and partner with a friend to create a mask using your own profile as its mold. Share your inner inspirations and design your mask to honor your inner self, connect to your roots, express your deepest qualities, and bring your inside out.
